Sunday School

Sunday School for adults at Grace Church is an in depth presentation of God’s truth as it relates to all of life.  Every quarter electives are offered on the books of the Bible (the entire Bible is taught in a 10 year period).   Courses are also offered on doctrinal truths, practical Christian living, and understanding our world in the light of God’s Word.  Our Sunday School teachers include our pastors, elders, along with others who are well qualified to instruct and disciple fellow believers.  Classes are taught on a quarterly basis and students are encouraged to attend the course of their choice.  We believe that those who regularly attend our adult Sunday School are receiving an invaluable, mature understanding of the Christian faith.

       Adult Sunday School Electives

*The following Adult Sunday School Electives run from September 5 thru November 21, 2010

     1.  The Book of Joshua - Teacher:  Pastor Tim Clark  -    Location: Sanctuary

Joshua is the famous general who led the conquest of Canaan.  His book certainly has things to teach about leadership, but more important is the central focus on God Himself.  The message of Joshua is that God is the true Leader and Warrior as He fights for His people and fulfills His redemptive purposes for them.  Join us in the sanctuary for this exciting study.

2Gospel-Powered Parenting -      Teacher:  Dr. Ron Reed -   Location: Overflow

Parenting, even Christian parenting, is in disarray, and it is no small matter.        Success or failure can qualify or disqualify a man for spiritual leadership, as well  as determine the face and temperature of the church for generations to come.   Since the Bible gives few specific verses on parenting many do not think that the Bible is sufficient to equip parents, and turn to books which borrow heavily from secular psychology and the therapeutic world.

But it is clear from the Bible and experience the most effective parents have a clear grasp of the cross and its implications for daily life. The theme of this course is the gospel is the classroom that teaches us everything we need to know to become effective Christian parents. And, if that is true, we begin parenting from the first day of our engagement and continue right through our empty nest, since we never stop being a parent. Join us as we discuss healthy marriages, worldly influence in the home, the masculinity of God, “good” kids making “bad” choices, “boomerang” kids, and, relationships with adult children and grandchildren.       May our homes “preach the gospel.”
